Why We Need More Teachers (like you)

We need more teachers to make sure our children get a great education. Lucy Kellaway talks to Times Radio about the teacher recruitment problem and how Now Teach are helping to fix it by recruiting experienced people to become teachers.

And our work to see more experienced people retraining as teachers is having an impact.

This year, 1 in 10 new teachers are over 40 years old, demonstrating a shift in how people plan their careers and see the latter part of their working life.

Lucy says: "So there is something interesting going on that's partly a demographic shift. More and more older people are thinking it's not too late to do something new and do something meaningful."
