Stephen left school without any GCSEs and initially worked as a trader. Determined to retrain as an maths teacher, he overcame the obstacles many face when academic results don’t go as planned.
Speaking to ITV News London, Stephen encouraged young people who may be excluded from mainstream education or struggling with their grades, reminding them that “wherever you end up today does not define the rest of your life.”
