Charles Allen had a 30-year long career in marketing before career changing to teaching.

After spending a long time mentoring young people in marketing, Charles realised that it was very similar to teaching and decided to take the plunge. He got in touch with Now Teach and is currently in his third year of teaching in modern languages.

He chatted to BBC 5 Live about the current teacher recruitment crisis and shares his thoughts on how AI can be used effectively to reduce teacher workload.

"The possibility of AI in teaching is huge. If we really grasp it, we would lift a tonne of workload off teachers.

We can do what we love doing which is standing in front of a group of kids and inspiring them."
